Everything is Bigger and Better
This year, ESGS is much bigger and better than ever before. The Con occupies the whole Ground Floor of the Mall of Asia, SMX Convention Center and the exhibitors are clearly happy to make use of the bigger and wider spaces. All sorts of gargantuan booths have popped up all over SMX! From the awesome Playstation Area, the Ancient Egyptian-themed Ubisoft booth, Synergy 88’s cylindrical game station featuring an actual DJ pumping music, and the huge Brawlfest Area everything is much more of an awesome spectacle than ever before.
You can play Assassins Creed:Origins before everyone else
Assassin’s Creed: Origins marks a return to form for Ubisoft’s most popular franchise. The series has taken a year off to retool and reimagine in an effort to reinvigorate the franchise and Ubisoft is giving ESGS 2017 attendees first crack at what they got. Don’t miss this opportunity to run around, parkour and stab fools in Ancient Egypt especially before everyone else gets to play the game!
The Playstation booth is always amazing
The massive Playstation Booth has always been a sight in ESGS past. This year, they really swung for the fences and gave us a huge gargantuan beast of a booth. All four sides of the humongous Playstation area features a fabulous attraction: It’s North Wall is a multi-tiered space dedicated to the newly released fighting game, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite; It’s South Wall features an area where you can play the newest entry in the Call of Duty Franchise, Call of Duty: WWII; It’s West wing is devoted to NBA 2k18, Dragon Ball Fighter Z, Dissidia Final Fantasy and Sword Art Online; and the East Wing houses all their Playstation VR Products and the latest Gran Turismo : Sport complete with cockpit set-up!
It’s a chance to support our local Indie Games
ESGS is an awesome opportunity to get to know our local games culture! There will be a ton of different Indie Games on display at the Indie Arena which you can try and play. While you’re at it you can chat with the game’s creators who are always happy to tell you more about their project.
You can also check out the bigger upcoming locally made games in Bayani Kanino Ka Kakampi, Project Xandata and Garrison: Archangel which all have garnered international attention. Each will have a standalone booth of their own and will feature tournaments and demos all weekend long.
You can prove you’re the best Brawl Fest
Brawl Fest is the place where you can test your mettle against the very best players in the fighting games community. Prove your worth as you duke it out in Injustice 2, Super Smash Bros: Melee, Blaz Blue, Street Fighter V and Tekken 7 where the winner will go on to the mother of all Fighting Games Tourneys, EVO 2018!

The exclusively gaming-themed Cosplay Competition will amaze
ESGS will also be holding a gaming centered cosplay competition at the main stage! Come see your favorite videogame character brought to life as the very best will vie for prizes and videogame-themed glory. The competion will be judged by evaluated by a panel of judges who are also long-time cosplayers themselves: tech influencer Kang Dupet, freelance events organizer Loki Heart, and World Cosplay Summit Philippines President Tessa.
You can finally follow up on your dream to break into the Games Industry
ESGS provides one of the best opportunities to learn about and maybe pursue a career in gaming. Various talks will be held by the Game Developers Association of the Philippines (GDAP);and Gamefest, which is a conference that will focus on the academic side of Game Development will be happening throughout ESGS to find educate and cultivate the next batch of promising young Game Devs. Who knows? The next big videogame creator might be you!
