Ragnarok Festival happened this Geekend and the Gladiators were there to experience it! Here are the coolest things that happened!
Ragnarok and Cosplay have always gone hand-in-hand. This year’s the latest iteration of the Ragnarok Cosplay Competition was lit up by the fabulous contestants dressed up as characters from the game. There were Munaks, Knights, Crusaders and Assassin Crosses of different shapes and sizes, each with their own little gimmicks and props. Some beat up cardboard Porings; brandished their amazingly crafted weapons, and one Crusader even threw her shield around in an amazing display with the help of some stage ninjas!
Ragnarok Festival got the fans involved in the festivities by having them enter in the home-made head gear competition. Fans responded with some surprisingly well crafted stuff! One creative fan was able to come up with a battery-operated Propeller Hat that really spun!
THE OFFICIAL COSPLAY GROUP ABSOLUTELY KILLED IT!
The official cosplay group absolutely nailed their characters. Much to the delight of the everyone in attendance, we’d wager.
Imago Set the Stage on Fire!
Imago rocked the house down in their performance later on in the festivities. They sung some of their biggest hits as well some new ones. The rock band’s Frontwoman Mayumi Gomez confessed she had played Ragnarok Online in the past and even had a level 150+ Character. No small feat to be sure.
Tons of People Turned Up!
The turn out for the festival was absolutely astounding. Droves of Ragnarok Fans filled the SM Annex Events Area and within minutes of mall opening had a line snaking down to all the way to the first floor! Whether they were after the awesome merch, the art, the live music, the experience of being around fellow Ragna Fans or just to recapture the old nostalgic feels, they were sure to have had a rousing good time.
Ragnarok Announces Return to the Country!
And finally, the coolest thing that happened during Ragnarok Festival was probably the big announcement that Ragnarok Online is making its glorious return to the Philippines! Gravity Games COO Kitamura Yoshinori was on hand to make the announcement to the excited cheers of everyone in the crowd. Yoshinori also teased a few new features an improvements they’ve made to the game and hopes that everyone in the Philippines will come home to MMORPG that started it all.
