Pick of the Geek (March 26 – April 1)

A new week, a new Pick of the Geek! As with previous articles, Pick of the Geek brings you all the latest movies, TV shows, comic books and other happenings in the world of geek. This week promises to be a monstrous one with what’s in store for us. So without further ado, here’s what caught the eyes of the Geekend Gladiators.

GHOST IN THE SHELL

The anime of the same title will finally get the Hollywood treatment, and is set for release this week!

The movie stars Scarlett Johansson in the lead as The Major, and with that expect a lot of awesome action as we are accustomed to seeing her in.

We did a more in-depth discussion on the movie, and you could find it here.

ARROW “DISBANDED”

In this week’s Arrow, we get to see a broken Oliver Queen as he mulls quitting for good. We have also heard that the Bratva is somehow involved in this episode. Seems like the past is really catching-up on Ollie and his crusade.

LAZARUS #26

After a few months off, Lazarus returns this week for the 5th chapter in the “Cull” story arc.

This chapter focuses on the hanging threads from last issue, as Vassalkova starts his strike, while the Beast is let loose. On the other hand, it seems like Forever continues to be put through the ringer as there looms a devastating loss in this week’s issue. Be sure to check it.

X-MEN PRIME

The Resurrexion story line begins this week. We will get to see where the X-Men stand after the recent war with the Inhumans. Will they regroup or will they remain scattered?

Meanwhile, Kitty Pryde finally returns to the fold as she will most certainly be the head of a group of mutants.
