Pick of the Geek (March 13 – 19, 2017)

A new week, a new Pick of the Geek! As with previous articles, Pick of the Geek brings you all the latest movies, TV shows, comic books and other happenings in the world of geek. This week promises to be a monstrous one with what’s in store for us. So without further ado, here’s what caught the eyes of the Geekend Gladiators.

The live adaptation of the animated feature of the same name makes its ways to cinemas this week. Starring Emma Watson and Luke Evans, the tale as old as time comes to life as it seeks to make viewers believe in love once again.

The first of two Death Note live-action movies premieres this week. As with the popular anime, the movie is about a notebook (Death Note) that is used as a weapon to kill people. The difference between the movie and the anime, however, is that instead of only one deathnote, there exists six copies in the movie. In what appears to be a game of cat and mouse, the authorities must find out where these notebooks are and their owners to stop the unwarranted killings.

Netflix has been assembling the Marvel street heroes known as the Defenders, and with Iron Fist premiering this week, we get to see the story of who Iron Fist is.

In its first season, Danny Rand returns to New York City after missing for several years. Upon his return, he wages war against the criminal underground with the help of the power of the Iron Fist.

24 LEGACY “6:00PM – 7:00PM”

24 Legacy has been on a tear lately, and this week promises to make things a lot better with the much-anticipated return of fan favorite Tony Almeida.

Following last week’s events, the stakes have now been raised as one of the terrorist cells was successful in detonating a bomb on US soil, CTU must now use all resources to stop the terrorists, and that’s where Almeida comes in. Meanwhile, Carter must now save his wife and brother from Jedallah’s men.

Things have been pretty grim on The Flash lately, and this week seems to point towards the same direction. With Wally now stuck in the Speed Force and Savitar loose in Central City, Barry travels into the Speed Force to rescue Wally and discover more about Savitar in the process. Barry, however, is tormented by the people in his life, both past and present while inside the Speed Force.

A week off kept fans of Arrow hanging and wandering just what might happen in the next episode. As it turns out, Arrow finally gives fans what they were yearning for as the Green Arrow will finally know the identity of Prometheus plus the much-awaited face-to-face confrontation that ensues. This marks as a must watch episode.
