Pick of the Geek (March 6 – 12, 2017)

A new week, a new Pick of the Geek! As with previous articles, Pick of the Geek brings you all the latest movies, TV shows, comic books and other happenings in the world of geek. This week promises to be unforgettable with what’s in store for us. So without further ado, here’s what caught the eyes of the Geekend Gladiators.


Set in 1973, the movie focuses on the titular character/ape Kong as it is in the midst of a battle for dominion over an island against Apex Predators. Having heard of these monstrous creatures, an expedition crew ventures to this island only to find themselves fighting for survival. It is here where the crew finds the most unlikely help from Kong.

Kong: Skull Island stars Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, and Brie Larson. Kong: Skull Island hits theaters this Thursday March 9, 2017.


As we learned from last week’s episode, Savitar has made his return, and this time he’s tormenting Wally West. Wally, on the other hand, has kept this from Barry and Co. Will this threaten Barry and Iris’ seemingly happy state? Find out this week on The Flash.



Designated Survivor returns after a few months off, and with a whopper of a cliffhanger. So, who actually got shot on the steps of the Capitol? And will FBI Agent Hannah Wells remain steadfast in her mission to uncover who is responsible for the bombing? Designated Survivor returns this week.

IVX #6 marks the finale for this Inhumans and X-Men crossover event. With tensions rising and the Inhumans’ and X-Men’s future precariously hanging in the balance, the war takes a turn for the worse. Find out what happens in the epic oversized conclusion this week.

For those with a Logan hangover, this week’s Old Man Logan may just get you through that. Get ready for some prison breaking in this new Old Man Logan. Logan must correct something from his past, and must employ the services of a potentially treacherous ally.
