Pick of the Geek – February 20-26 2017

It’s that time again for the Geekend Gladiators to present the top things to look out for in this geek-tastic week.

The Flash “Attack on Gorilla City”

Grodd is back, and the Flash is bringing him back for a two-episode event. Last we heard of Grodd was in season 2 where he was sent to one of the many multiverses, with little winks here and there with what he’s up to. In this week’s episode we get to see what he’s up to, and why he attacked Earth-2.

Supergirl “Mr. and Mrs. Mxyzptlk”

This week’s Supergirl marks the debut of Mr. Mxyzptlk in the DC TV universe. Mr. Mxyzptlk, a magical imp, has set his sights on Kara, Kara on the other hand tries to let him down easy. Seeing this as a challenge, Mr. Mxyzptlk tries to wreak havoc around National City to get Kara’s attention.

Suits “Quid Pro Quo”

Things have gotten a lot riskier in Mike’s quest to enter the Bar last week, and things seem to get even riskier. Seems like Mike’s class suit will take a turn for the worse this week jeopardizing his shot to finally becoming a legitimate lawyer. With the second to last episode this season, things are about to get hairy.

24 Legacy “3:00 PM – 4:00 PM”

Last week’s 24 Legacy delivered one of the stronger episodes in this young spin-off. Hopefully the trend continues as things start to heat up. In hour 4, Eric is forced to team-up with Ben to retrieve the list of sleeper cells. Meanwhile, Nilaa is further interrogated by CTU.

By: Joshua Williamson and Carmine Di Giandomenico (DC Comics)

The latest take on the Rogues has been a refreshing one, too bad it has to come to an end in this week’s The Flash issue. The issue promises to be one of the latest and best showdowns between The Flash and Captain Cold. Will Snart finally defeat The Flash, or will The Flash come out on top again? Find out this week.

By: Steve Orlando, Ivan Reis and Joe Prado (DC Comics)

A new Justice League is formed, thanks in large part to the recently concluded Justice League vs. Suicide Squad event, and their first task is to go up against the Extremists – self-proclaimed saviors from a different world. With the stakes set so high, will this new team wilt under pressure or work together just in time to save the world.

Could this be the start of Steve Roger’s downfall as an agent of Hydra? Taskmaster has discovered Steve’s secret, the question now is, will Taskmaster out Steve, or will he use this for his own benefit.

By: Ryan North and Derek Charm (Archie Comics)

Reggie’s King for a Day, and as king, he’s formed a band. While this seems mighty nice of him, considering his standards, Reggie screws things up when he mistakenly (?) uploads the wrong music video which puts Jughead in the hot seat.
