Its a new year, and with that comes a new batch of movies to watch. We, here at geekendgladiators.com, decided to put up a little handy guide for what’s what in movies for the year 2017.
So without further ado, here’s the 17 must see movies for 2017:
The DCEU is now in full-throttle mode with the much-anticipated Justice League movie. The movie takes place after the events of BvS and Suicide Squad where we last saw Bruce Wayne, aka Batman, searching for other metahumans to form a band of super-powered beings, known as the Justice League.
The movie pits the Justice League against Steppenwolf, the right-hand man of something far worse than the League has imagined.
Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, and Ciaran Hinds. It premiers on 17 November 2017.
STAR WARS VIII
The much-anticipated follow-up to The Force Awakens premieres this year.
Episode VIII has been pretty much kept under wraps and very little details have surfaced, but expect Episode VIII to continue to explore the relationship between Luke and Rey and whether Luke will indeed train Rey.
Episode VIII will also feature one of the last appearances of beloved icon Carrie Fisher. Expect it to be a bitter-sweet experience for die hard Star Wars fans.
Star Wars Episode VIII is slated for a December release and stars Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver and Oscar Isaac.
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2
Our favorite rag-tag group of losers are back! This time, the Guardians of the Galaxy are off traveling the galaxy while helping Peter Quill learn more about his father.
Initial reports say that the cinematic version will veer from the comic book with regard to Peter’s father.
James Gunn returns as its director, so expect the same epic adventure as the first movie.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel. Premiere date is on May 5, 2017.
The announcement of Spider-man being a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe blew the minds of comic book fanatics. After Spidey’s debut in Captain America: Civil War, fans were clamoring for more, and lo and behold, Spider-man Homecoming.
Spider-man Homecoming takes place after the events of Captain America: Civil War. The movie revolves around young Peter Parker’s struggles with balancing superhero life with his high school struggles. Luckily for Spidey, Tony Stark is willing to train him. This training is put to the test when a new threat, The Vulture, emerges.
Spider-man Homecoming premieres on July 7, 2017, starring Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, and Marisa Tomei.
The third and final film following X-Men’s Wolverine. In his final stand-alone movie donning the claws, Hugh Jackman plays an older, wearier Wolverine who’s healing capabilities have seen better days.
Logan lifts some of its plot from the best-selling graphic novel Old Man Logan. In this depiction, though, Logan is tasked with protecting a young mutant, Laura, who possesses the same abilities as Logan.
Logan is set for release on March 3, 2017, and stars Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Richard E. Grant, and Dafne Keen.
The first superhero movie starring a woman is finally upon us. Gal Gadot plays the titular character, Wonder Woman, an Amazonian princess living on the island of Themyscira.
The movie is set in the early 20th century, and follows Diana and Steve Trevor as they battle throughout World War I.
Wonder Woman premieres on June 2, 2017. Wonder Woman stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen and Robin Wright.

It was also confirmed that the Hulk will co-star, and that it was described as a space road-trip movie.
Rumors also have been going-around that Doctor Strange will make an appearance, especially after that end-credit scene in Doctor Strange.
Thor:Ragnarok is slated for release on November 3, 2017, and stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Mark Ruffalo, and Cate Blanchett.
It’s Morphin’ Time! The Power Rangers are back in the limelight, and fans are immensely excited.

In Captain Jack’s latest adventure, he is pursued by an old rival that goes by the name of Capitan Salazar. Capitan Salazar is bent on killing every pirate at sea, and to stop him, Jack Sparrow must possess the Trident of Poseidon.
The filmmakers seem to have adopted the tone of the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie based on the trailer alone. Here’s to hoping that the latest installment doesn’t sink.
