Ember Moon made quite an impression when she debuted infront of 15,000 fans in NXT TakeOver Brooklyn II. We have compiled a couple of things that will help you get to know this mysterious and promising superstar.
1. Booker T was One of Her Mentors
Ember Moon whose real name is Adrienne Reese is not new to the business. She started her career in 2007 when she started training under Booker T’s Pro Wrestling Alliance promotion. Booker T gave this statement when asked about Ember Moon’s debut – “She’s everything I expected. When she first came to me she was already talented she had the tools. She had to be polished. She had the hunger. She was willing to travel the miles. She was way ahead before she got her. Now she was able to show the world.”
2. She Got Rejected by WWE a Couple of Times in the Past
Ember Moon mentioned in one of her interviews that her journey to join the WWE started in 2007 when she had a try out in the FCW facility but got rejected. She was invited again in 2008 and mid 2009 but got rejected in both attempts. She admitted that getting rejected a couple of times became her ulitimate motivation to focus on her indie career. She wanted to show that WWE missed out by competing in different types of matches showing everyone that she had no limits.
3. She’s Got a Unique Wrestling Style
Admit it, we were all impressed when she made her debut against Billie Kay in Brooklyn TakeOver II. She’s a high flyer and she gives Booker T credit for honing her high flying move set. When asked to describe her wrestling style Ember Moon claimed that her personal style is quite unpredictable. She described it as a mixture of Lucha Libre and Strong Style which she gained when she was wrestling in countries like Canada, Mexico and across the United States.
4. She was a Victim of Bullying
Her grandfather was one who introduced her to wrestling. He planted a seed at an early age and it eventually developed when she started getting bullied.
5. She’s Ready to Raise the Bar Set by the Four Horsewomen of NXT
We all know how Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch and Bayley changed everyone’s perspective of women’s wrestling. According to Ember Moon, she’s ready to break barriers and change the industry by showing everyone that she’s not a porcelain princess. She was signed by NXT in August 2015 and she feels that her time in the performance center made her ready for the new beginning she’s planning to lead in NXT now that the four horsewomen have all been called up.
