5 Things You Should Know About WWE’s Emmalina

Get to know Emma – NXT’s bubbly girl who turned into a woman with attitude after debuting again in RAW.

1. Emma is all about wrestling

Emma, whose real name is Tenille Dashwood, was introduced to wrestling by her brother Jake when she was just 8 years old and she started actively training when she was 13. She got involved in Pro Wrestling Alliance Australia before joining the Storm Wrestling Academy in 2007 located in Calgary, Canada which was owned by Lance Storm.

She went on to wrestle for various wrestling promotions such as Wrestlerock and PWA Queensland from 2008-2009;  Shimmer Women Athletes and Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling in 2009–2011. She was signed to the WWE in 2011 and had her last independent match in Australia in a Melbourne City Wrestling Event.

She was so devoted in honing her craft that even long after her debut on the main roster she willingly returned to NXT to retool and refocus.

One of her main influences is Stone Cold Steve Austin and she was lucky enough to finally have a picture with him during Wrestlemania 32 in Dallas Texas.

 2. She earned the nickname “The Dancing Queen”

Emma  used several different ring names in the past including Valentine which she used when she was still wrestling in Australia. However, she’s easily remembered as “The Dancing Queen” following several dance battles with Summer Rae in both NXT and WWE. She was the crowd favorite though admittedly Summer Rae has a more sophisticated style in dancing.

Well sorta.

You be the judge.

 3. She has her own Cooking Channel on Youtube

She is a good cook and in September 2015, Emma launched her own cooking channel in Youtube called “Taste of Tenille”. She already shared 14 videos in her channel and some of those videos featured her fellow WWE Superstars like Paige, Austin Creed and Billie Kay.

Additionally, Austin Creed aka Xavier Woods from the New Day also has a Youtube channel focused on videogames. Check it out here

 4. She’s taken (Woo Woo Woo)

Emma is currently dating the former Intercontinental Champion Zack Ryder and they just started going out early this year. Prior to dating Ryder, Emma was rumored to be living in with former NXT star William McNamee.

I guess you could say, Zach really Wooed her.

 5. She was almost the first ever  NXT Women’s Champion.

Emma surprised everyone when she defeated Aksana and Summer Rae to qualify for the Finals of the NXT Women’s Championship. She competed against Paige in the final round but Paige won the match via pinfall making her the first and youngest NXT Women’s Champion in history. Emma had another shot at the title when she had a match against Paige in NXT Arrival but she once again fell short.

I’m sure there are still plenty of chances for her to prove herself though, especially with Shane O’ Mac’s announcement on the latest Raw about giving people with talent the chance to showcase it.

The future’s looking pretty bright for our dancing and cooking wrestler from down under! Plus this new look is absolutely killing it!
