In honor of Free Comic Book day happening on 07 May 2016, this edition of Pick of the Geek will feature the comic books you should pick-up this week.
For those who are unfamiliar with the format, Pick of the Geek lists down the stuff that you need to watch out for in the coming week in the geeky realm.
BATMAN SUPERMAN #32
Final Days of Superman continues this month as Superman’s bid to strengthen his forces the DC Trinity to China to battle the Great 10.
Unfollow is one of the more intriguing titles on the shelves today that don’t involve super heroes. This issue will focus on a new member of the 140 list, Courtney. Courtney is considered as an “It” girl and due to her inclusion on the 140, has been given her own hit reality TV Show. Knowing how Unfollow has developed its characters, expect Courtney to be another gripping character.
THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN #12
The most dangerous for from Secret Wars makes his debut in this issue of Amazing Spider-Man. Expect the All-New All-Different Avengers to guest star in this issue.
BLACK WIDOW #3
Last time we saw our favorite femme fatale, she was being blackmailed by the Weeping Lion. Natasha must now pick her spots before making her move. Expect another excellent addition to this very young, yet compelling depiction of Black Widow.
The first of two Punisher books, Daredevil/Punisher #1 is the perfect book for those who still have a major hangover from Season 2 of the Daredevil series. In the first of four mini-series, Daredevil and Blindspot look to get a mobster his day in court, but the biggest roadblock to that is not any legal precedent, but rather The Punisher, all that Frank needs to do is put a bullet in him.
The other Punisher book debuting this week is Punisher #1, marking the return of Frank Castle in the All-New All-Different era. This version looks to be violent and bloody as evidenced by the parental advisory label on the cover. Expect Punisher to be pushed out of his comfort zone and taking him to the edge of the world he thought he knew.
STAR WARS POE DAMERON #2
Star Wars Poe Dameron #1 was a pleasant surprise as it provided the same feel as the Force Awakens, issue #2 aims to continue and replicate that feel. The focus shifts to Captain Terrex of the First Order and how he found the Black Squadron. The race continues as Poe continues his mission to find Luke Skywalker.
There you have it, 7 awesome books to look out for this geeky week!
