Another week, another geeky pick. Here are the Geekend Gladiators picks for the week September 28 – October 4, 2015.



 injustice #21

Issue #11 marks as the penultimate issue for Year Four of Injustice. Having learned of the role of Darkseid, Superman flies to Apokolips to do battle with him. Meanwhile, on Earth the reign of the Greek Gods have begun.

The previous issue left fans with a lot of questions and uncertainties with the state of the Justice League in Darkseid War. Batman became a god, Superman has gone to the dark side, and the remaining heroes are fighting and losing against the forces of Darkseid, making this issue a must-read. And if that’s not enough, then get this, this will mark the end of Darkseid War and an ending that will change the Justice League.


Archie 3

A new student graces the halls of Riverdale High. What does this mean for Archie and the gang. Find out in this week’s Archie #3




AoS is back! As teased even before the end of Season 2, and throughout the Summer, the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will adapt the Secret Warriors storyline from the comicbooks. SHIELD will look to recruit their very own Inhumans as a new organizationn also aims to form their own team. Expect the Inhumans to be a big part of the season. Premieres September 30, 2015.


NBA 2K16


The long wait is over. 2k16 will be hitting stores this week (for those who failed to pre-order). NBA 2k16 is poised to remain as the top NBA simulation game with its revamped features, such as managing your team (relocating the franchise, picking a name, uniform), MyCareer, and also the little things like the post-game interview videobombs and player reactions. NBA 2K16 is available on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC.

live 2016

After years of absence in the NBA simulation game, NBA Live looks to make a strong comeback this season. While the verdict is still out there on whether NBA Live 2016 will topple the leading franchise (2k16), Live looks to recreate the magic that was lost during its heydays.




When astronauts blast off from the planet Mars, they leave behind Mark Watney (Matt Damon), presumed dead after a fierce storm. With only a meager amount of supplies, the stranded visitor must utilize his wits and spirit to find a way to survive on the hostile planet. Meanwhile, back on Earth, members of NASA and a team of international scientists work tirelessly to bring him home, while his crew mates hatch their own plan for a daring rescue mission. Premieres on 30 September 2015
