Comic Book Picks of the Week

Here at Geekend Gladiators we aim to give our readers/followers an idea of what goes down in the world of geekdom. And for this week, here are our picks on which comic book issues to pick-up.

Justice League

The epic Darkseid war continues in the latest issue of Justice League. The story promises to get even better even after the events of last month’s issue (Batman becoming a god). We all can’t wait for the next installment and the repercussions of the change in status-quo.

1872 No. 2

With Marvel’s summer event Secret Wars still chugging on, and the various battleworlds and spin-offs available in the market, it’s hard to decide which comic book to pick-up. But you can’t go wrong with 1872. The first issue was surprisingly good, with a Western twist to the heroes we all know. In the next issue, we hopefully get to see a lot of duels and gun-slaying between our heroes and Dead Man’s hand. Can’t wait!

After giving us a sample of what’s next for Archie in this recently relaunched title, we couldn’t wait to get our hands on the second issue. With the #lipstickincident getting us all intrigued why Archie and Betty broke things off and with Veronica soon to enter the fray, things are looking a lot more interesting in Riverdale. Credit goes to Mark Waid for making Archie relevant again.
