Tom Holland cast as the new Spiderman

We finally have a new Spidey! After months of speculation and rumors, Marvel studios and Sony Pictures have chosen 19-year old British Actor Tom Holland to play the iconic and beloved superhero Spiderman.

Early in his career, Holland starred in musical entitled Billy Elliot: The Musical as a supporting character but eventually took over as the titular lead character due to rave reviews on his versatile acting and dancing skills.

So I guess we’ll have THIS illustrious part of the mythos covered

In 2012, Holland starred in the disaster movie The Impossible alongside Ewan Macgregor and Naomi Watts. The Impossible chronicled the events of the Indian Ocean Earthquake in 2004. Holland was once again the recipient of high critical praise for his debut performance.

Holland edges out long rumored favorite for the role Asa Butterfield, of Ender’s Game fame, and now joins the ranks of outstanding British actors playing iconic American superheroes, such Christian Bale, who played Batman in the Nolan Movies, and fellow Spiderman, Andrew Garfield. There must be something in the tea.

The next Spiderman Film is set to be released in theaters on July 28, 2017 in IMAX and in 3D. The film will be directed by Jon Watts, director of the upcoming thriller “Cop Car”with Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige and Sony Pictures’ Amy Pascal co-producing.

In the meantime here is Tom Holland showing us his best Spidey moves via Instagram

Raffy Leynes is a geek of all trades (master of fun).He loves videogames, comicbooks, movies, cartoons, wrestling, science and art. Lately, he’s been liking his geekery with a dash of “Indie”. He doesn’t know what the f*ck musings are but he is told he does them on his InstagramFacebook and Twitter.
