Avengers: Age of Ultron has come and gone and along with it goes the Phase 2 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
As we look back, there are actually still plenty of questions left unanswered going into Phase 3. The Gladiators forwarded the following items to to our resident Oracle but she has yet to get back to us, leaving us to speculate on our own. Maybe you guys could help us.

On to the questions!
1.) Where did Nick Fury come from?
When we last saw our favorite eye-patched SHIELD director, in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, he went underground, using the premise of his assassination as his cover. And yet when he makes his return, he barely gets a surprised reaction from the team.
He really WAS in the barn this whole time? What if underneath the barn there was a secret SHIELD hideout that only Fury knows about? Its been known to happen. And it might explain why Hawkeye keeps his family safely tucked away out there.
2.) Is Shield back?
That thing at the end where Fury and his new ride swoops in to save the day, does that mean SHIELD is back? Is Fury the director, again? Additionally, in another corner of the MCU, in Agents of SHIELD we are made aware that there might be 2 SHIELD “factions” that are operating independently of each other, could Fury’s be the third?
And it just dawned on me,
The SHIELD factions and its ideals are the crux of the upcoming Captain America: Civil War? And Tony ends up the poster boy for one of the factions or even ends up running one of them? He bankrolled the Avengers in AoU, so it could happen.
3.)Where did Thor go?
At some point in Avengers:AoU, Thor goes on an otherworldy journey (as previously predicted, ahem ahem) Unfortunately, this part is heavily edited and some key scenes were taken out, leaving us all scratching our heads as to what went down.
Where was this scene? Is it even on earth?
Why did he need Dr. Selvig to come with him? Was Thor counting on his moral support? Cause he didn’t look like he did much.
As mentioned in our predictions article, this, was Hel, the Asgardian Underworld, and the bald woman was its caretaker Hela? And this subplot was an ominous vision for things to come? It actually looks like it. And it looks like we’ll have to wait til Thor:Ragnarok to find out because we were really left hanging here.
4.) Could Pietro be alive?
Near the end of the movie, we see Quicksilver sacrifice himself to save Hawkeye and the civilian. and yet he never gets a funeral. He’s never mentioned in afterward. And what about Dr. Cho? Couldn’t she have done anything with her reconstructive machine thing?
And wasn’t there a mention of an “increased metabolism” in Quicksilver’s power set? Presumably this should include a sort of healing factor should it not?
he isn’t dead? They never had a funeral because he’s still alive. Or better yet, what if he’s in a lab somewhere being kept alive long enough to reverse engineer his powers? Judging by the way Quicksilver walked all over the Avengers, superspeed is a very powerful weapon to have in a universe filled with gods. What if Hydra or some other entities are looking to get their evil little hands on it?
5.) Why wasn’t Pepper in the New Avengers Initiative?
In the final scene of Age of Ultron we get introduced to a brand new crop of Avengers: Scarlet Witch, Falcon and War Machine. But we’re forgeting someone else seems to have gotten superpowers in a previous movie:
Subscribing to our theory of Stark bankrolling a SHIELD faction of his own, what if, the “company” that Tony says Pepper runs is actually their Underground SHIELD? Of which she is their superpowered second in command? But if this was true, why would Rhodey a.k.a. War Machine, be on the other side? To be fair, Tony and Rhodey have been known to have their differences in opinion in the past, maybe the Marvel Civil War will see the great friends torn apart once more?
